Cedar River Loop

Cedar River Loop Trail

Distance: 16.3 miles

Trails: Cedar Valley Lakes and South Riverside

Connecting the downtown areas of Cedar Falls and Waterloo, this loop offers trail users a variety of recreational experiences, skirting Washington Park in Cedar Falls, passing through the cool shade of the floodplain forests in George Wyth State Park and Hartman Reserve, and running through the heart of the industrial area in northwest Waterloo, all while enjoying spectacular views of the Cedar River. Not interested in the 16 plus miles? No problem, as three major river crossings allow you to shorten the loop while still enjoying the ambience the Cedar River provides.
