College Hill Arts Festival

The College Hill Arts Festival will take place in a few short days celebrating their 36th anniversary! On Friday, June 20th from noon until 8 PM and Saturday, June 21st from 10 AM until 5 PM enjoy the shady corner of UNI located at 23rd and College Streets. With no admission charge and free parking, this event is accessible for all with a full list of activities and entertainment sure to fit everyone's wishes.
This festival entails several of the best artists from around the country, contributing artwork that is innovative, original, rare, and exceptional. With a total of seventy five artists, selectively chosen, there is a wide range of artwork including: photography, ceramics, glass, painting, jewelry, wood, fiber, graphics and sculpture.
The Young Art Collector's Gallery, for youth ages 14 and under, is a very well-liked part of the Festival, also including artwork that is unique and of high worth, being priced up to $10. The aspect of this event is striving to inspire youth to make independent choices regarding art.
Skillful musical groups will be present to entertain on stage, alongside other numerous activities for the youngsters with sponsors including: Hearst Center for the Arts, Fantasy Face Painting, Balloon Creations, Symphony Petting Zoo and the Young Art Collectors Gallery. A variation of food venders will also be available – all making for a fun family-friendly event!
Artists to hit the stage on Friday include: Greg Herriges, Sleepy Bones, Zoot & Newt, Uncle Chuck & His Imaginary Band and The 3rd Street Band with Saturday's performers consisting of: Blue Suede Cruze, The OK Factor and Orquesta de Jazz y Salsa Alto Maiz.
Every summer, College Hill Arts Festival is eager to purchase the official poster of the Event being created by the one and only Gary Kelley. Kelley is known internationally as both an artist and instructor, honored with 27 gold and silver medals from the Society of Illustrators in New York. Kelly was welcomed into the Society of Illustrators Hall of Fame in New York in June of 2007. His inventive and extraordinary poster will be offered for purchase via a silent auction. The 2014 Limited Edition Collectors Poster “An Amazing Array of Artistic Endeavors” signed by Kelly, will be for sale at the Festival as well as a signing by Kelley Friday evening from 5PM until 7 PM.
