Hey you! With the “Think Global, Act Local” bumpersticker! You with the canvas bags you take to the farmer’s market or the food co-op. All those who search and search for the handmade, quirky gifts for friends and family, your search is over!
The seventh annual Pear Fair hits Cedar Falls on September 16 from 11am-5pm. This open air indie craft fair will be held in Cedar Falls Municipal Lot G, located on the corner of 22nd and College St (next to The Octopus). A much-anticipated annual event in Cedar Falls, the Pear Fair is a one-day celebration of local food, great music, indie art, and good vibes.
Local and regional artists and craftspeople will be under the Pear Fair tent selling their one-of-a-kind creations. Jewelry, wallets, soap, candles, hats, scarves, wall art, and more will be available from the 25+ vendors who plan to make an appearance. If you’re looking to make a statement with your personal style or home décor, the Pear Fair is a great place to find that perfect piece that pulls a look together.
For vinyl enthusiasts, there will be records playing all day. New and vintage vinyl and a record swap will be available to shake up an existing record collection. For those who are interested in vinyl but haven’t started collecting yet, record players are available for purchase from Mohair Pear. Friendly (not snobbish) advice about starting your record collection is available for free!
So, if it makes you happy to buy something from the person who made it, the Pear Fair is right up your alley!
While you’re on College Hill, stop in to Sidecar Coffee for a cup of coffee made from beans roasted in Cedar Falls. Also pouring at Sidecar is Singlespeed beer, brewed right here in the Cedar Valley. And, stick around for Oktoberfest taking place in the same location at 5pm. Enjoy live music, food, games and beer!
It’s all good vibes on The Hill September 16. Stop in and stay for the day at the Pear Fair AND Okotoberfest!
