The air is brisk and the sky is overcast so our thoughts have turned to autumn and all the upcoming events that celebrate the season.

Fall Painted Sign
6:00 – 8:30 pm
Fig & Frolic
Workshop for adults. Create a decorative sign for your home, either “The Pumpkin Patch” or “Fall Bucket List.” Sign will measure 18” x 24”. $45/person. Pre-registration required. Visit their Facebook page for registration link.
Girls’ Night Out

Cedar Falls Downtown District
Stores are decorated in autumn décor and it’ll be a fun night shopping in the district! Grab your girls and join us in the District for Girls' Night Out. Purchase a coupon card and Downtown District bag for $10 and all proceeds will go to the Beyond Pink TEAM in honor the Pink Ribbon Run/Walk - Downtown Cedar Falls on Saturday the 6th.

Pumpkin painting (with the purchase of a pumpkin), photo opportunities, activities and refreshments.

Fox Ridge Winery (north of Traer)
Music of Milk & Honey from 4-7pm and family fun including hay rides, pumpkin launching, face painting, magic show, games and more. Admission is free.
Noon – 5:00 pm
Variety of locations
Learn how local producers grow your food and manage their farms. Visit one farm or all seven in any order. Visit their website to find out the activities that each farm will offer. The site also has a PDF of their brochure and map. Participation is free and no registration is required.
Fall Family Fun Day

Cedar Falls Downtown District
First National Bank is sponsoring their month long Funtober, which is simply October filled with fun in the Cedar Falls Downtown District! Join the downtown merchants on October 13th as they host a Fall Family Fun Day for kids at the corner of 4th and Main. Activities include face painting by the Hearst Center for the Arts and a pumpkin giveaway (sponsored by Coldwell Banker - Trapp Realtors), fall crafts and more!

The Diamond Event Center is still taking reservations for their OktoBEERfest! RSVP to 319-859-9324 for this special beer dinner featuring five courses and seven beers. $50/person. $80/couple.
“October Nights” Painting Event
7:00 – 10:00 pm
Cedar Valley Art & Wine

Batter Up, Buttercup!
10:00 am – noon
Buttery fun for the kids! They’ll learn the science behind butter, they’ll churn butter in a real churn, stamp their pat of butter with a mold and bake some butter-based shortbread. For kids K-6, pre-registration required at 319-266-5149. $5/student.

Cedar Valley Arboretum
1927 E Orange Road, Waterloo
A Family Market Place will be selling pumpkins at the Cedar Valley Arboretum and Botanic Gardens again this year. There is no admission fee to shop for pumpkins. There is an admission fee to enter the Cedar Valley Arboretum after visiting the pumpkin patch.
4881 Texas Street, Waterloo
This third-generation family farm offers a great selection of pumpkins, gourds and squash. They also have a family-friendly haunted house, haunted hayride and haunted walk for only $4 per person. Through October: Monday-Friday 1-8pm; Saturday-Sunday 10am-8pm. Visit their Facebook page to confirm hours.
