Hawkeye Farm Show February 26-28

A tradition of excellence has made the Hawkeye Farm Show a must attend for farmers in the region. The 26th annual event will fill the UNI-Dome with the newest in agriculture Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, February 26, 27, 28, 2013. This year's show is the largest ever, with over 200 Companies scheduled to display over 900 lines of products and services. Show Manager, Penny Swank, states, “The timing of the show is ideal for planting information and purchases and exhibitors are optimistic following a year of good yields and strong commodity prices.” She adds, “Iowa State University Extension Seminars return again this year with a daily seminar schedule designed to provide practical planting and crop management information, as well as an outlook on key economic trends.”
Application of technology to improve bottom line is a dominant theme throughout the show, as it remains imperative to control all aspects of production, manage and market more effectively. Featured products at this year's show include high-tech equipment and software for monitoring input costs, as well as all new power equipment designed to minimize fuel and input expenses will be showcased. Several exhibitors are offering strategies and techniques to deal with emerging concerns such as corn rootworm resistance. Power equipment companies, farm Implements and tools of all kinds, seed companies, chemical companies, storage buildings, and grain handling and drying systems are all represented at the show.
There is a special promotion for those arriving at the show before 1 PM. Those folks will have an opportunity to register for a $1000.00 EARLY BIRD prize of merchandise from any exhibitor. Registration information is available at the show office on the South Entrance Landing of the UNI-Dome. Stop-Fyre™ Fire Extinguishers is making sure EARLY BIRDS arriving at the show between 8:30 and 10AM can enjoy Free Coffee and Rolls with KOEL Farm Director, Liz Brown.
Iowa State University Extension Seminars are scheduled twice daily at 11 AM and 1 PM. This year seminars are moved to a new location in the Alumni Suite, accessed via the south mezzanine level walkway to the McLeod Center from the UNI-Dome. The schedule for 2013 follows below:
