Ideas for Ringing in 2016!
on Wednesday, December 30, 2015
Fun with the kids, an intimate dinner for two and a little nightlife can all be on your list for New Year’s Eve!
First, the kids get to celebrate early at a Noon Year’s Party held at the Phelps Youth Pavilion in Waterloo. Crafts, snacks and games are on the menu from 10:00 am until 12:30 pm. We double checked and you can still register (319-291-4490) or walk in the day of the event. Admission is free for members and non-members are $5/person (includes same-day admission to the Pavilion).
In the evening, share an intimate dinner for two at Ferrari’s Ristorante. You won’t want to miss this. $60 includes a 4-course dinner plus a glass of wine or champagne. Give them a call at 319-277-1385 to ask about menu details and to make reservations.
Whiskey Road Tavern & Grill is getting ready to start the New Year with a bang! Their menu will include two New Year’s Eve features. Then, at 10:30 pm, they’ll start ringing in the New Year with The Woodhaven Brothers. The live music is free! If you’d like to make a dinner reservation, call 319-277-1244.
If acoustic music is more your style, stop by Luna Art + Wine in downtown Cedar Falls for live music by Brad Myers. Buy a glass of wine and then sit back and enjoy music from 9:00 pm until midnight.
If you love country music, our newest night club in downtown Cedar Falls, Derringer’s Public Parlor, will be hosting McKenzies Mill at 10:00 pm. This is a nationally touring band and doors open at 5:00 pm. Admission is $20/person.
From downtown to College Hill (College Street), check out the live music taking place at Ginger’s Pub and Octopus.
Ginger’s Pub will begin ringing in their new year with a Masquerade Ball and the Pork Tornados. Doors open at 7:00 pm (first 100 people get free masks and party favors) and admission is $10/person (ages 21+ only).
Maybe Folk Punk is more your music style. Peas and Carrot, the Holy White Hounds and Dishwater Blonde will ring in the New Year at Octopus. Doors at 9:00 pm and the music starts at 10:00 pm. $10/person.
There’s a lot to take in this New Year’s Eve. Make your evening complete with a New Year’s Eve getaway package from the Blackhawk Hotel. Check out their choices, including assorted chocolates, late checkout and a full breakfast.
Remember that Travel Waterloo also has a list of events taking place on New Year’s Eve. Check out their recent blog post for more ideas!
