Things to Do: Cedar Valley Trails

posted on Wednesday, July 18, 2012

Every time I am asked at the Visitors Center… “What is there to do in Cedar Falls?” The absolute first thing I tell them is THE TRAILS! With over 106 miles of paved trails in the Cedar Valley we are nothing less than spoiled here. Anyone can use the trails for walking, jogging, running, biking, rollerblading and even cartwheeling if you would like! Water Trails have also been created for the Cedar Valley and beyond to enjoy! Maps of all of the Trails can be found at the Cedar Falls Tourism & Visitors Bureau on Hudson Road in Cedar Falls or can be requested by calling (319)268-4266 or at http://cvbmap.com/cedarfalls/index.html

Another very exciting addition to our ever growing trail info is the new CV Mapp!! An App for your smart phone that shows all of the trails in the Cedar Valley and where you currently are on them! If you have a smart phone check it out and start using those trails! To download the App go to: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/cv-mapp/id536207801?mt=8.

If you are traveling from out of town to ride the trails there are plenty of restaurants and places to stay along your trip. Mulligans Brick Oven & Pub is one of the biggest trail supporters in the Cedar Valley, with some of the best brick oven pizza in town, they host dirty rides and flat tire rides all throughout the summer. Black Hawk Park, Big Woods Lake, and George Wyth State Park are all campgrounds located along the trails just waiting to be filled with avid trail users! If you need bike work done while in town Bike Tech and Europa Cycle & Ski are your one stop shops for any bike maintenance or upgrades.
