Blue Zones Projects Kick-Off in Cedar Falls

posted on Tuesday, November 20, 2012

Dan Buettner, New York Times best-selling author of Blue Zones and Thrive, will be visiting Cedar Falls to kick off the Blue Zones Project™ on Wednesday, Nov. 28.

While here, he’ll also kick off a special program for a select few called the Blue Zones Project Makeover Challenge and we’d like you to join us.

Inspired by the lifestyles of the longest-lived people in Blue Zones® areas of the world, you will:

  • Work hand-in-hand with our experts
  • Use our tools to make healthy choices easier in your environment
  • Discover what choices you can make to live happier and healthier

To get started, we need to hear what makes you a great fit for the Blue Zones Project Makeover Challenge. Simply email us at bluezonesprojectusa@healthways.com and let us know where you feel you have the biggest opportunities for improvement at home, at work, and in your community. We really want to get to know you, so the more you share, the better!

Please also include your name, address, phone number, and email so we can get in touch. Because we know your story can help encourage and inspire others, applicants must be willing to document their journey and may be asked to share their experience with the media.

While we can only pick a handful of people to participate in this personal makeover challenge, everyone in the Cedar Valley can reap the benefits of the Blue Zones Project! Learn more about activities happening locally and about the tools available online by visiting bluezonesproject.com.

We look forward to seeing you all at the community rally in Cedar Falls on Nov. 28 at 5:30 pm at the Cedar Falls High School Auditorium!
