A look at the evolution and history of communication based on the Grout Museum District's collection of telephones and other communication devices. Fascinating facts about the history of telephones will be discovered. Artifacts, photographs, and other archival materials will demonstrate how times have changed since the invention of the telephone on March 10, 1876. March 4 thru 31 - Waterloo All School Art Exhibition This is an annual exhibit featuring artwork by students of all ages from Waterloo's public and parochial schools. Each year over 1,000 works are displayed, reflecting the excellence of art education programs in Waterloo schools and showcasing the talents of area students. May 1 through August 29 - Selections from the Mexican Folk Art Collection Over the past few year the WCA has amassed an impressive collection of Mexican Folk Art. This will be the first time that this collection has been presented in a major exhibition. Paintings, ceramics, masks, textiles, and many other types of objects will be included. May 1 thru August 1 - Art on Wheels A series of designs for skateboard decks which will be showcased in an unusual and dynamic exhibition. Juno, the man behind these distinctive pieces, is one of the artists on the staff at the Eternal Ink Tattoo studio in downtown Waterloo.
