A Tour of the Town (1 Day)
10:00 am Arrive in Cedar Falls and be WOWED by a tour of our $19 million Performing Arts Center at the University of Northern Iowa, or COOL DOWN with a lemonade and tour of the Ice House Museum, George Wyth House or Victorian Home and Carriage House Museum, or ENJOY a morning coffee and cinnamon roll at the Hearst Center for the Arts and while strolling through their gorgeous Sculpture Gardens.
11:00 am Take a tour of the town! SIT BACK and let one of our guides give you an up-to-date tour and find out "what's buzzin" in Cedar Falls. You'll see what makes this quaint town one of Iowa's treasures.
12:30 pm Can't wait for a historic Cedar Falls lunch? The Cedar Falls Women's Club could offer you just that! But, don't forget about the other great restaurants in Cedar Falls such as Ferarri's, River City Beefstro, and...THE LIST GOES ON.
1:30 pm Hit the books! Spend the afternoon at the University of Northern Iowa... not studying, but exploring the UNI Museum, the Marshall Center One-Room School House, or take a walking tour of UNI landmarks.
2:30 pm Stretch those legs! We have many little shops in downtown Cedar Falls and at the College Square Mall...you'll want to stretch those legs and check them out!
5:00 pm Dinner at the restaurant of your choice! A choice of restaurants that will suit any taste. 7:00 pm A night at the theatre! Enjoy a live theatre production by the Cedar Falls Community Theatre or Theatre UNI. Cedar Valley Tour (2 Days)
Day 1
9:00 am Arrive in the Cedar Valley and witness the tractor production process by touring the local John Deere Operations.
12:00 pm It's lunch time! Barn Happy, Ferarri's, River City Beefstro...they will treat your group just right!
1:00 pm Step back in time and emerge yourself in the history of Cedar Falls by touring one of the museums that make up the Cedar Falls Historical Society, including the Victorian Home & Carriage House Museum, George Wyth House and Viking Pump Museum, Ice House Museum, Little Red School House, and Behrens-Rapp Station.
2:00 pm Take time to smell the roses! Stop in the Hearst Center and enjoy a relaxing stroll through their gorgeous Sculpture Gardens.
3:00 pm See where you're sleeping! Check-in to your accommodations.
3:30 pm Shop till you drop! Plenty of great shopping happens in the Cedar Valley area. Two great malls and two great downtowns full of unique specialty shops. Cedar Falls has been nationally recognized as a Great American Main Street and as one of Iowa's first Cultural Districts!
6:00 pm A delightful dinner! Sample some of Cedar Falls' best by dining at the Brown Bottle, Montage, Bourbon Street, and the LIST GOES ON!
8:00 pm Evening excitement awaits! Enjoy an evening at Iowa's newest Performing Arts Center. The Gallagher-Bluedorn offers something for everyone with over 150 performances each year! Day 2
8:00 am Rise and shine! It's time for breakfast at a local restaurant.
9:00 am Tour our neighbors right next door! The Grout Museum District has so much to offer! Relive history at the Victorian style Rensselar Russell House in Waterloo. Discover the many wonders of the Grout Museum, including the Planetarium, Carver Discovery Zone, and rotating exhibits of local interest.
12:30 pm Is it lunch time already? How about an old fashioned picnic lunch? We'll work out the details for you.
1:30 pm Visit the Panther's Den. Tour the UNI-Dome, the only indoor stadium of its kind in Iowa and home of the University of Northern Iowa Panthers!
2:15 pm Want to learn about science? Visit the UNI Museum and view exhibits related to anthropology, biology, geology, history & more. Includes a nice gift shop too!
3:00 pm Time to stretch those legs! This time you will be able to stretch your legs on a walking tour of landmarks on the UNI campus. See the Campanile, Marshall Center One Room School House, Gallery of Art, and many historic buildings.
5:00 pm Whew! Time for a quick rest at your hotel! 6:00 pm A delicious dinner! Choose from the many restaurants here in Cedar Falls and you will be sure to find a delicious dinner.
8:00 pm The show must go on! It's always a great evening of splendid theatre at the Oster Regent Theatre, downtown Cedar Falls. Community Theatre at it's finest.
