Featuring local and regional artists in traveling and special focus exhibitions, this multi-purpose art center houses two galleries, a recital hall and a small library. Bulbs, perennials, bushes and trees indigenous to Iowa provide a quiet restful environment in which to relax and contemplate the sculptures on view May through October. The Sculpture Garden is in bloom from early spring through late fall and birds, butterflies and bunnies will surprise and delight every visitor. The garden is open sunrise to sunset and is handicap accessible.
 

It's an interactive children's museum like nothing you've ever seen...featuring over 40 hands-on exhibits related to art and culture.  Milk a life-size cow, virtually drive a tractor into a Grant Wood painting, test your skill at digital finger painting, explore the music, language and culture of other countries, and so much more.  The Phelps Youth Pavilion at the Waterloo Center for the Arts is a children's museum filled with creative, hands-on experiences...from simple drawing to high-tech adventures, kids of all ages - even infant and toddlers - will find fun, new ways to discover the arts!  At the Pavilion...art launches a world of wonder, discovery & learning!

Artistic expression has long been valued in Cedar Falls as evidenced by the Public Art Committee and their annual Gardens to Main Street Public Art Exhibition. Nineteen unique works adorn the Hearst Center for the Arts' Sculpture Garden, Downtown Main Street and the grounds of City Hall. This exhibition is replaced with a new collection each June. Permanent displays of various art forms are featured, with temporary exhibitions providing visitors an opportunity to view a wide range of artwork. Open Mon. - Thurs. 9 a.m. - 9 p.m.; Fri. 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.; Sat. and Sun. noon - 5 p.m. during the regular school year. Mon. - Fri. 9:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.; Sat. & Sun. 12:30 - 4:30 p.m. during the summer.

Municipal art center features a full schedule of temporary art exhibitions; permanent collections include the largest Haitian Art collection in the United States, Midwest and American decorative art; and performing arts events relating to the exhibits.
