Easter Activities and Brunches, 2019 | Cedar Falls Tourism & Visitors Bureau


Easter is April 21, 2019, and there are all kinds of family activities to enjoy in the days before the Easter Bunny arrives. No matter how you celebrate Easter, lunch with family and friends is always a good idea. Several restaurants are offering an Easter brunch menu or buffet. Be sure to check out the list below!

April 13
Bunny Brunch

Waterloo Center for the Arts
10:00 – 11:30 am
$8.00/person (members), $10.00/person (non-members)
Join the Easter Bunny for brunch and “bunny-riffic” craft activities!
Register by April 9 at 319-291-4490. Price includes same-day admission to the Phelps Youth Pavilion.

Kids in the Kitchen

Hy-Vee, Waterloo (2834 Ansborough Avenue)
10:00 am
$10.00/person
Kids of all ages are invited to join Dietitian Beth to make fruit pizzas, hard-boiled dyed eggs, and Easter crafts.

Easter Egg Hunt

Hy-Vee, Waterloo (2181 Logan Avenue)
11:00 am – noon
Free and open to the public
The Hy-Vee on Logan Avenue will host their annual egg hunt and provide games, food, and fun for all ages!
 

April 20
Egg Hunt at Grace

Grace Community, Cedar Falls (4421 Hudson Road)
9:30 – 11:30 am
Free and open to the public
Grace Community will host an egg hunt and offer inflatables, face painting, and more. We heard the Easter bunny might visit, too!
 

April 20
Oakridge Realtors Eggstravaganza, Cedar Falls

UNI-Dome, Cedar Falls
10:00 am – noon (egg hunt starts at 10:30 am)
Free and open to the public
Their 5th annual event will take place inside the UNI-Dome with games, face painting, balloon animals, bounce houses, refreshments, pictures with the Easter Bunny and an Easter egg hunt with more than 30,000 eggs!
 

April 20
Spring Open House

ARNKA Acres, Dike
1:00 – 4:00 pm (egg hunt starts at 1:30 pm)
Free and open to the public
Learn more about this first generation, family farm and enjoy an Easter egg hunt with more than 4,600 plastic eggs! The Pie Lady will have free samples of homemade ice cream and ARNKA will have produce, eggs, and goat milk products available for purchase. There will also be farm-themed games and door prizes. At 2:00 pm you can milk a goat! Did we mention they have baby goats?
 

April 27
Peeps Olympics

Bluedorn Science Imaginarium, Waterloo
10:00 am - 1:00 pm
$5.00/adult and children 4-13, Veterans half price, children ages 3 and younger and members enter free
Bring your marshmallow Peeps from the holiday and use them to learn about catapults through a series of challenges.

VISIT THE EASTER BUNNY

April 13-20
Crossroads Center, Waterloo

11:00 am – 8:00 pm, Monday – Saturday
Noon – 6:00 pm, Sunday (April 14)
Pet Night: Tuesday (April 16) and Thursday (April 18), 5:00 – 8:00 pm only
Free. Crossroads Center will be closed on Easter Sunday, April 21.
 

April 13
College Square Mall, Cedar Falls

1:00 – 3:00 pm
My Dress Up Shop will host the Easter Bunny in the Food Court of College Square Mall. Children will receive a small treat from Here’s What’s Poppin’/Main Street Sweets. Take photos with your camera or let My Dress UP Shop take a photo. Parents can view and print photos taken by My Dress Up Shop on their website (no photos will be given out the day of the event).
 

April 18
Here’s What’s Poppin’, Cedar Falls

4:00 – 6:00 pm
Free and open to the public
It’s a meet-and-greet with the Easter Bunny at two Cedar Falls Downtown District businesses. On Thursday, April 18, enjoy a free sample of popcorn, photos with the Easter Bunny and more!
 

April 20
Hatchlings & Hens,  Cedar Falls

9:00 am - noon
Enjoy Easter crafts, baby chicks, a sample of Here’s What’s Poppin’ popcorn and photos with the Easter Bunny!

Special hours! The Brown Bottle in Cedar Falls will open for lunch on Easter Sunday. They will feature their regular menu and reservations are encouraged.

You’ll find all your favorites at this year’s Easter brunch at Fox Ridge Golf Club. The menu includes traditional favorites like potato salad, pasta salad, eggs made to order, waffle bar, chicken with lemon cream sauce, carved ham, and so much more. They’ll also have a selection of pies, pound cake, carrot cake, brownies and cookies.

Hy-Vee Market Grille, Cedar Falls (6301 University Avenue)

Reservations are required at 319-266-6678 to dine inside the Market Grille, but there will be additional seating in their casual dining area within Hy-Vee.

It’ll be a grand buffet at Lark Brewing! Buffet also includes dessert, coffee, tea and soda. Bottomless Mimosas or Bloody Mary’s will also be available for $10!
