Movies Under the Moon, photo courtesy Cedar Falls Community Main Street
What’s more magical than watching your favorite movie under the moon and stars? Twice a month throughout the summer, hundreds of families gather on the lawn of Overman Park in Cedar Falls to enjoy music by the Cedar Valley Acoustic Guitar Association and watch a family-friendly movie, under the moon.
On select Friday evenings, Cedar Falls Community Main Street coordinates the music and movie (on a giant inflatable screen) for the public, free of charge. Food from Cottonwood Canyon, popcorn, soda and an assortment of snacks will also be available for purchase. All you have to do is bring a blanket or lawn chair and enjoy! Acoustic music begins at 6:30 pm and the movie begins at dusk (or around 9:00 pm).
New this year is a Passport to the Arts. Pick up a Passport at participating businesses or print a copy to get stamped at Movies Under the Moon and other eligible events taking place this summer for your chance to win a prize package. Learn more HERE.
