Dine out Thanksgiving Day (2018)


Will you have friends and family visiting Thanksgiving day? Maybe you'd like to dine out instead of cleaning house and cooking for a big meal. We have a list of restaurants that are open Thanksgiving day, 2019! 


DINNER

Farmer’s Pick Buffet

Buffet, 11:00 am – 8:00 pm
Your traditional feast will include turkey, roast beef, shrimp cocktail, casseroles, mashed potatoes and gravy, a full salad bar, hearth oven pizza and homemade pastries from Simply Yummy Baking Company. $24.99/person

Buffet, 10:00 am - 2:00 pm (seating times vary)
Chef Jennifer and her staff will be serving all the "fixings" for Thanksgiving dinner. $22.95/adult and $10.95/child ages 6-12. Children ages 3-5 is $5.50/child and children ages two and younger dine free.

Enjoy a luncheon special of turkey or ham with mashed potatoes and gravy, stuffing, green bean casserole, cranberries and pumpkin pie for dessert for $16.99/adult, $7.99/child (ages 10 and under). J’s opens at 5:30 am for breakfast and closes at 3:00 pm.

Their eat-in dinner special includes hand-carved turkey breast or grilled ham steak, honey-glazed carrots or cut yams, stuffing, a biscuit, mashed potatoes with gravy, and a choice of soup or dinner salad. It's also servied with a slice of pumpkin pie!

ACTIVITIES

Turkey Trot
November 28
8:15 – 10:15 am
Meet at Big Woods Lake (south side), Cedar Falls
"Turkeys" of all ages are welcome to join the fun! There will be a Kids Dash for those ages 10 and younger, a 1-mile fun run and a chip-timed 5K run/walk. Threshold Pace Timing is hosting the event and they recently announced an additional route for this year's event that will make the run a little easier for those with strollers and walkers. And, take time to hike and bike our Cedar Valley Trails. We have more than 100 miles of trails in a series of loops for you to enjoy! Pick up a Cedar Valley Trails & Recreation Guide at area hotels or kiosks or pick up a map at the Cedar Falls Visitor Center.


MORE FUN

Holiday Hoopla activities kickoff on Friday, November 29, in the Cedar Falls Downtown District. Shop, have dinner and watch Santa and Mrs. Claus arrive downtown between 6:00 and 8:00 pm. Or, in 2019, why not enjoy the music of  the 6th Annual Thanksgiving Day Weekend Bluegrass Festival at the Hilton Garden Inn November 29-30?
