Are you ready for some pancakes? March is the perfect time to get a taste of real maple syrup. Hartman Reserve is hosting a Maple Syrup Festival on March 1-2 from 7 am-1 pm. Parking/shuttle bus service will be available from Cedar Heights Elementary School. This is an all-you-can eat pancake breakfast that also includes sausage, Starbucks coffee and Hansen’s milk & dairy! You can have fun while you eat and try and catch your pancakes in the air! There are all kinds of events to keep the whole family entertained. Some activities include demonstration of the maple syrup process and nature art activity by the Hearst Center in the Buckles building.

Save $1 per ticket if you buy advance tickets before the event. Advance tickets are on sale February 1-28 and are available at the Nature Center or by calling 319-277-2187. Advance tickets are $7 for adults, $4 for children ages 4-12, and children 3 and under are free. For more information about sponsoring the event, contact Connie at connie.hrnc@gmail.com. For volunteer information, contact Katie at katie.hrnc@gmail.com. You can also check out http://www.hartmanreserve.org/friendssupport.html for details about the benefits of becoming a sponsor. Hartman Reserve is located at 657 Reserve Drive in Cedar Falls. All proceeds from the Maple Syrup Festival will be used to support the mission of Hartman Reserve, which is “dedicated to understanding our environment through education, recreation and community involvement and to the stewardship of a unique natural area.” Come out and enjoy some delicious food while contributing to the betterment of the natural environment in the Cedar Valley.
