Experience a day at one of our 13+ annual events including the College Hill Arts Festival and the Cedar Basin Music Festival. Visit the Ice House Museum and the Sullivan Brothers Iowa Veterans Museum. Dine like a local as a group or on your own as you meander in the Downtown District. Experience the University of Northern Iowa's Tallgrass Prairie Center, shop at Barn Happy (an award-winning and unique retail shop), enjoy a program on bird watching, butterflies or wildflowers at Hartman Reserve Nature Center and discover the the Cedar Valley Arboretum with a self-guided tour.
Enjoy native Iowa with a trip to the newly renovated Hartman Reserve Nature Center and lunch in the community room. You'll love the spectacular view! Your nature adventure will continue at University of Northern Iowa's Tallgrass Prairie Center and a visit to Barn Happy. Barn Happy is a 1925 renovated barn with a marvelous gift shop that specializes in Iowa made products. Savor a slice of pie and a cup of coffee before you head home!
Historic Route 20
Historic Route 20 takes road-trip enthusiasts through 12 states from Boston, Massachusetts to New Port, Oregon. In Iowa, Route 20 runs through 33 communities, including rural towns and large cities.
