(Cedar Falls Downtown District)
The gals are gathered, you’ve chosen your local shops and restaurants and it’s time to put your girlfriend getaway into action with a weekend filled with delectable delights and shopping destinations in downtown Cedar Falls!
Armed with your best friends, you’ll have a blast shopping, creating, dining and relaxing…
The downtown district is filled with one-of-a-kind shops to explore. You’ll find indoor décor at Basket of Daisies, mid-century modern furniture and gifts at Miss Wonderful, antiques at Townie Village, purses at Purse-N-ality or a unique gift at Vintage Iron Co.
Alternate your shopping with a creative activity while you’re downtown. Fig & Frolic, Hatchlings & Hens not only have adorable shops, they offer creative space and workshops. At Cedar Valley Art & Wine, sip wine and paint your masterpiece.

You and your friends will need re-energize as you shop. A light lunch at Sub City, Cottonwood Canyon or Soho Sushi Bar & Deli might do the trick. Or, perhaps a break at Chocolaterie Stam, Main Street Sweets, Scratch Cupcakery, Tea Cellar or Here’s What’s Poppin’ will give you the energy you need.
But, when the day is done and it’s time to unwind, you’ll find our locally-owned restaurants in the district to be relaxing places to visit with friends about your day’s adventures. Whiskey Road Tavern & Grill, Montage, Gary Kroeger’s Figaro Figaro or the Brown Bottle will fit perfectly into your evening plans.
There are so many places to shop, eat and enjoy in Cedar Falls that you’ll need to spend a night or two!
Or, repeat your trip with best friends this spring and summer during one of our downtown events! “Build Your Garden” Spring Shop Hop is April 5-7. Girls’ Night Out is May 3 and Sidewalk Sales are in July. June 22-24 is also our city’s annual Sturgis Falls Celebration and it takes place in the parks surrounding the downtown district so there’s always a great place to eat and unwind after a day at the festival.
