What is RodCon 2024? RodCon is a mini comic book fan convention celebrating all things comic books, video games, anime, science fiction and pop culture.

This year’s RodCon will be held Saturday, April 6 , from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm at the Rod Library located on the campus of the University of Northern Iowa. The Rod Library anticipates more than 3,000 attendees. The event is free, open to the public and family-friendly, so you can bring the family and plan to be entertained throughout the day.

RodCon is a convention celebrating the imagination. Nowhere else in the Cedar Valley will you find this demonstrated better than through the artists, retailers and cosplay (dressing up as a character) at this year’s convention. RodCon will host local and regional vendors who will offer the perfect piece of artwork, literature, information or souvenir for attendees to purchase.      

Whether you’re a child or an adult, RodCon will be more fun when you come in costume. Plus, it’ll be the perfect for your participation in the costume competition (which would be great for your entire family). There are also activities for all ages including the little ones at the Kids' Zone. 

Additional entertainment includes guest speakers, demonstrations, artists, gaming, trivia and more. There’s actually more entertainment at this year’s event than we can list and we don’t want you to miss out so be sure to visit their website HERE.

Or, stop by and see us at 6510 Hudson Road on your way to the UNI campus. We're open Monday-Friday 9am-5pm. The vestibule is accessible 24/7 with maps and brochures about the community.
