  • Downtown

Charming and nestled along the Cedar River, the Cedar Falls Downtown District aims to please. Our historic downtown has six consecutive blocks of distinctive shopping, runs adjacent our 100+ mile trail system and is located a couple blocks from local historic landmarks. You’ll find downtown to be a hub of locally owned and unique eateries and small-batch breweries. Businesses also stay open late Thursday evenings and downtown hosts many special events throughout the year.

  • College Hill

In the heart of the University of Northern Iowa campus is College Hill, a vibrant neighborhood with an eclectic blend of restaurants, nightclubs and shopping. In the summer, visit their open-air market on Wednesday evenings. Be sure to also veer off to scenic Seerley Boulevard to the Hearst Center for the Arts – home to two galleries, a recital hall, gift shop and sculpture garden.

  • College Square

Just down the street from the University of Northern Iowa, you’ll find a mix of nationally known restaurants and coffee shops, hotels, residential neighborhoods, trailheads and Hartman Reserve Nature Center. At the center is College Square Mall, home to Van Maur, Bath & Body Works, Claire's, and more.

  • University

Our University neighborhood includes all the events related to University of Northern Iowa sports and performing arts. The Gallagher Bluedorn Performing Arts Center has three state-of-the-art concert halls and hosts over 300 shows each year, from small ensembles to Broadway shows. Familiar to many for its unique construction, the UNI-Dome is home to football games, track and field events and a variety of large events every year. The adjacent McLeod Center is home to basketball and volleyball games.

  • Industrial Park

Expansion of our industrial park has brought more shopping opportunities to Cedar Falls. Located just off of HWY 20, internationally known businesses such Bossard and Target Distribution Center and many locally owned and operated businesses are thriving. But this is also home to a complex of retail stores such as Target, Michaels, Blain’s Farm & Fleet, Menards and Scheels. Accessible by our trail system, our Industrial Park neighborhood also includes North and South Prairie Lakes and our Cedar Falls Visitor Center.

  • North

Travel over the Cedar River to our North neighborhood. You’ll find an abundance of outdoor recreation at Black Hawk Park and Big Woods Lake and we know you’ll find our scenic trail system breath taking with its varied scenery. If you need supplies or a break from camping, a convenience store and dining options are just blocks away.

  • Northwest

Our Northwest neighborhood is primarily residential and includes one of our two city golf courses, Pheasant Ridge Golf Course. This is where kids gather in the summer to play baseball and grab an ice cream cone at 4 Queens Dairy Cream on 1st street. Others might like to visit the Crazy to Quilt Shop!

  • Waterloo

Cedar Falls and Waterloo, Iowa are adjacent each other. Together, we’re often referred to as the Cedar Valley. That means there is more to see and do here than you imagined!
