In 2026, Cedar Falls and communities in the area will be celebrating Independence Day for days!
Check out all the celebrations and be sure to take note the day of the week fireworks will take place.
July 2, 2026
Fireworks Over the Dome
Cedar Falls, Iowa
Cedar Falls and the University of Northern Iowa will host fireworks on the UNI campus at 9:40 pm on Thursday, July 2, 2026. Parking lots and green spaces open at 7pm. Concessions will be served by UNI Athletics. Music will be broadcasted by 93.5 The Mix.

Cedar Falls Residents: Consumer Fireworks
Consumer fireworks are permitted within the city limits on July 3 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., July 4 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., and July 5 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Read on here.

The Waterloo Bucks will present a fireworks extravaganza following their 6:35 pm games on Friday, July 3 and Saturday, July 4 against the Thunder Bay Border Cats.

4th of July Celebration

In Dysart City Park
The community of Dysart will celebrate Independence Day July 4! Their celebration includes a kickball, pickleball and cornhole tournaments, grand parade, fireworks, and more.
July 3 - 4, 2026
Fourth of July Celebration
Reinbeck, Iowa
Festivities kick off Friday, July 3 with the Fireman's Dance. Saturday, July 4, activities include a 5K run/walk, fishing derby, shopping and food vendors, inflatables, laser tag, Bingo, trap shoot, Grand Parade, and more! In the evening there will be live music at 7:00 pm, fireworks display at 10:00 pm, and a lantern launch after the fireworks.

Independence Day Celebration
Independence, Iowa
The town of Independence knows how to celebrate! On Friday, July 3rd at the Riverwalk Parks activities begin at 4:00 with live music from Flatland Ridge at 4:00 pm followed by Don't Look Back: The Boston Experience at 8:30 pm.
On Friday, July 4, the Annual Independence Day Parade begins at 9:00 am followed by festivities at Riverwalk Parks. Afternoon fun will include a magic show and lots of live music from 42 Romeo - 34th Army Band and Fool House. At 10:00 pm, enjoy fireworks over the Wapsipinicon River!

Shell Rock 4th of July Celebration
Shell Rock, Iowa
July 2-4 daily activities include food vendors & beer tent, live music, and Kidzone.
Friday, July 3, includes Dry Run Creek Band at 8pm and Fireworks at 10pm.
Saturday, July 4, includes parade at 10am, Farm Rock Unplugged Band at 5pm and Chocolate Cracker Band at 8pm.
Sunday, July 5, Sunday in the Park.
