RAPID REACT! That’s the game for the 2022 FIRST Robotics Competition Iowa Regional taking place at the McLeod Center on the University of Northern Iowa campus, March 23-26.

More than 45 high school teams from Iowa and surrounding states will compete in this year’s competition. By the time they arrive at the McLeod Center, they will have spent more than six weeks designing, building and programming their robot to compete against other teams, maneuvering through tasks required by the competition. Each year, the game and tasks differ. This year, the Rapid React game is based on the 2021-2022 seasons’ theme of the future of transportation. Two alliances of three teams each will compete by moving cargo balls into lower and upper hubs for points.

Not sure what you’ll expect to see? Watch this short VIDEO to see the tasks and how teams will earn points to win.
