FIRST ENERGIZE! That’s the game for the 2023 FIRST Robotics Competition Iowa Regional taking place at the McLeod Center on the University of Northern Iowa campus, March 23-25.
More than 50 high school teams from Iowa and surrounding states will compete in this year’s competition. By the time they arrive at the McLeod Center, they will have spent more than six weeks designing, building and programming their robot to compete against other teams, maneuvering through tasks required by the competition. Each year, the game and tasks differ. During each match, witness two brand-new alliances of 3 robots each face off against each other. Come join us as we celebrate 8 years of FIRST Robotics Competition Regional events for Iowa teams!
Not sure what you’ll expect to see? Watch this short VIDEO to see the tasks and how teams will earn points to win.
