The air is brisk and the sky is overcast so our thoughts have turned to autumn and all the upcoming events that celebrate the season.

FALL FUN PLACES

A local source for all your fall fun and pumpkins, gourds, squash, and other fall decorating needs!

Scarecrow’s Haunted Barn, Haunted Scarytale Cornfield, Punkin Playland, hayrides, The Punkinator and the Giant Jumping Pillow!
4881 Texas Street, Waterloo
This third-generation family farm offers a great selection of pumpkins, gourds and squash. They also have a family-friendly haunted house, haunted hayride and haunted walk for only $4 per person. Through October: Monday-Friday 1-8pm; Saturday-Sunday 10am-8pm. Visit their Facebook page to confirm hours.
Cedar Valley Arboretum & Botanic Gardens
1927 E. Orange Road, Waterloo
Becks' Wapsie Fresh Produce is partnering with the Cedar Valley Arboretum and offering pumpkins for sale. Every purchase supports the arboretum. While at the arboretum, take a stroll through the gardens and see if you can find all 17 scarecrow vignettes on display through the end of October. Pumpkin patch is open the same hours as the arboretum (but may close before 7pm as they're not open when dark).
Girls’ Night Out
5:00 – 9:00 pm
Cedar Falls Downtown District
Stores are decorated in autumn décor and it’ll be a fun night shopping in the district! Grab your girls and head to the District for Girls' Night Out. Purchase a coupon card for $10 the evening of the event at 4th and Main Streets. All proceeds will go to the Beyond Pink TEAM in honor the Pink Ribbon Run/Walk - Downtown Cedar Falls on Saturday the 5th.
UNI Homecoming and Parade
It's a fun week that culminates with a parade Saturday morning at 11:00 am and a football game againstYoungstown State at 4:00 pm in the UNI-Dome!

Fox Ridge Winery (north of Traer)
Music of Milk & Honey from 4-7pm and family fun including hay rides, pumpkin launching, face painting, magic show, games and more. Admission is free.
4:30 - 6:00 pm
Unity Point Clinic (Prairie Parkway), Cedar Falls
Learn about Unity Point’s Get Growing (cooking and gardening camp for kids), enjoy healthy snacks and see how much their garden has grown and ways to enjoy home-grown produce.
Tree Identification Hike
6:00 - 7:00 pm
Hartman Reserve Nature Center
Hartman Naturalist, Katie Klus, will show you common trees of Iowa and how to identify them based on bark and leaf patterns. Wear appropriate shoes and attire for hiking trails and climbing stairs. $5/adult. $2/child.
Cedar Falls Public Library
9:00 am – 4:00 pm
LitCon is a celebration of all things pop culture and bookish, a library mini-con for all ages! This is a day-long event filled with fun activities, special guests, costume contests, and a vendor lounge. Events take place in the library and adjacent Community Center. Food available for purchase and free to attend.
10:00 am – 4:00 pm
Earl May Garden Center, Cedar Falls
Pumpkin painting (with the purchase of the pumpkin), photo opportunities, activities and refreshments.
Family Fishing Day
3:00 - 4:30 pm
Meyers Lake, Evansdale
Hartman Reserve Nature Center is hosting a family fishing day! Supplies are limited. Adults will need a fishing license unless they are only helping young one under the age of 16 fish.
